This Chapter describes the production and processing of monolithic architectural glass products. After a brief history of flat glass production in Sect. 2.1, several primary glass products and their production processes are presented in Sect. 2.2. Subsequently, Sect. 2.3 delineates the further processing steps that may be required to bring glass products in the desired shape, enhance their strength and/or to add further functionality to its surfaces. These production and processing steps precede possible further processing of monolithic products into multilayer products that are described in Chap. 3.
