Temporoparietal Fascial Flap
摘要
The temporoparietal fascial flap (TPFF) is a thin, pliable, and reliable flap with low donor site morbidity for a large set of defects of the head and neck. It was first introduced over a century ago to repair the auricle, and it has since evolved for many uses. The TPFF can be used as a rotational or free flap. It requires technical skill to avoid hair follicle damage with resulting alopecia as well as avoidance of facial nerve branches. Mastering this flap can greatly increase the armamentarium of a reconstructive surgeon and should be considered for complicated defects of the head and face.
