The importance of Supply Chain ResilienceSupply Chain ResilienceSCR (SCR) has grown significantly in recent years due to major disruptions that have led to severe external crises. This chapter examines the existing academic literature on SCR with the aim of developing a new, holistic definition of the concept. A total of 227 scientific contributions published between 2019 and 2024 were analyzed. The findings highlight four key factors essential for achieving SCR: (1) fundamental resilienceresilience attributes, (2) the role of technology in creating visibilityvisibility across supply chains, (3) sustainable and measurable resilience practices, and (4) the strength of relationships between supply chain partners. Based on these insights, the study proposes an updated and comprehensive definition of SCR, considering the diverse aspects that contribute to its resilience. Furthermore, the research suggests a new, holistic approach to strengthening supply chain resilience, offering several recommendations for future studies. These include: (1) exploring how emerging technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence can enhance real-time monitoring and adaptive decision-making in post-COVID-19COVID-19Pandemic supply chains; (2) analyzing the strategic role of collaborative networks and information sharing in improving agilityagility and responsivenessresponsiveness in uncertain environments; and (3) investigating the impact of sustainable and circular supply chain practices on resilience. The study's findings, along with the new holistic definition of SCR, offer valuable insights for both academics and managers. The chapter concludes by outlining managerial implications, research limitations, and potential directions for future studies.
