This research was conducted to assess the overall road management status related to road infrastructure safety level and propose recommendations to improve safety. The primary goal of this research was to identify and evaluate the critical intersections of the 8.3 km long Azimpur to Gabtoli road corridor. International Road Assessment Program – iRAP’s ViDA software was used as the primary research tool, which provided an overview of the road segment in the form of iRAP star rating. To carry out the analyses, road attributes data was collected through field visit and previous crash records were gathered using the Microcomputer Accident Analysis Package (MAAP) software. The issues identified in this research article are based on the crash data obtained using the MAAP software, field survey results, ViDA software outputs, and the perspective of road users and traffic management authorities. After identifying the issues, engineering and other practical solutions were recommended through testing several approaches, with the help of ViDA software, while aiming for safe Star Ratings. The study demonstrated that the ViDA software can quickly identify the critical issues regarding road infrastructure system and suggest the best possible solutions.
