At the same time when ancient Greek philosophers Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Diogenes, and others launched a sensational philosophical discourse of mind, reason, and culture in ancient Greek, ancient Chinese philosophers Guang Zhong (管仲?–645 BC), Laozi (老子571–471 BC), Confucius (孔子551–479 BC), Yan Yuan (顏淵521–490 BC), Zeng Zi (曾子505–436 BC), Mozi (墨子486–376 BC), Zi Si (子思483–402 BC), Zhuangzi (莊子369–286 BC), Mencius (孟子372–289 BC), Xunzi (荀子316–237 BC), and others launched the same philosophical exploration of mind, reason, and culture in ancient China too. Later on, Buddhism joined the discourse. Thus, the intellectual rivers and mountains in the East and West might differ, but the intellectual sun and moon were commonly shared by all philosophers in the world. Civilizations differed, but the intellectual metaverse existed and was united.
