In this chapter I will introduce some key dimensions of the main argument in this volume, namely, a summary account of Systemic Constellations Practice (SCP) itself in terms of its origin(s), alongside key individuals associated with the development of the modality in the second half of the twentieth century. I will offer a sketch of the principle features of the modality, an overview of the relevance and significance of an appreciation of colonialism, anti-colonialism, postcolonialism, neocolonialism and decolonisation as distinct epistemological, economic, historic, political and psychological phenomena, and their place in relation to Systemic Constellations Practice. This chapter also introduces African and Pan-African spiritualities and African cosmologies, alongside Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) as distinct parallel epistemes to Western knowledge. The chapter also serves to illustrate several inherent aspects of Systemic Constellations Practice and their correlation to Zulu IKS and the Ubuntu philosophy of Southern Africa in an accessible way.

摘要
