A Streamlined Introduction to Modular Forms
摘要
Eichler is often quoted as saying “There are five elementary operations in arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and ... modular forms”. If he said that, it was probably said tongue-in-cheek, but it is hard to overestimate the importance of modular forms in number theory–and also in physics (string theory, conformal field theory, black holes, quantum field theory, etc.).
