摘要
The term p-adic number (German p-adische Zahl) was first used by Hensel. As he himself remarked (Hensel 1907, p. 299), he first explicitly used it in a talk given in 1904, in which he stated “that each positive or negative, whole or broken, algebraic or transcendental number can be represented in the padic system, i. e. in the system with the base number p, where p is an arbitrary prime number” (Hensel 1905, p. 547).
