Balancing development and environment conservation creates a pressing dilemma. This chapter explores the critical interplay between balancing development and conservation focusing on how Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) creates a blueprint for achieving equilibrium. Selected SDGs such as (SDG 11) Sustainable Cities and Communities and (SDG 15) Life on Land are examined to understand their role in aligning developmental goals with ecological sustainability. This chapter highlights various theoretical frameworks and case studies which emphasize the conflicts and synergies between development and conservation, through the lens of urbanization, agricultural practices, industrial growth and community-led conservation efforts. Furthermore, it discusses the economic pressures, policy gaps, and implementation barriers that hinder the balance between these two imperatives and possible solutions for sustainable space where development and conservation co-exist. In conclusion, this chapter underscores the necessity of a holistic approach where governments, NGOs, and the private sector collaborate to ensure that future progress is sustainable, equitable, and ecologically sound.

摘要
