The problem of increasing the software energy efficiency becomes more and more urgent every year due to the growing volume of calculations and the complexity of modern computing systems. This work examines methods for monitoring and improving the software energy efficiency, with an emphasis on the RAPL interface proposed by Intel. The experience of developing applications with RAPL is described, and the results of computational experiments are presented.
