Sustainability and Recycling of Textile Reinforced Composites
摘要
Lightweight and high-strength Textile Reinforced Composites (TRCs) are good alternatives to the traditional materials used in modern industries, including transportation and construction industries. Due to their intricate fiber matrix structure, they pose a significant environmental challenge at the end of life. To study the sustainability and recycling of TRCs, this chapter delves into the principles of sustainability and circular economy applied to TRCs, emphasizing innovations in recyclable matrices, natural fiber reinforcements, and smart composite systems. The techniques for recycling TRCs, including mechanical, thermal, and chemical, have been discussed in detail. The chapter concludes with future directions focusing on AI-driven recycling, closed-loop systems, and multi-stakeholder collaboration, aiming to transform TRCs into eco-efficient, circular materials fit for a sustainable future.
