The Common in Latin American Socio-Environmental Studies from a Global South Perspective: Resilience, Adaptation, and Transformation
摘要
This chapter reflects on and discusses the alternative of the commons as a strategy to address the complexities of Latin American socio-environmental studies from a global South perspective, emphasizing the confrontation of one of the most urgent socio-environmental conflicts of our times: climate change. First, the Latin American socio-environmental context is described, based on the analytical categories of the global South and North. Subsequently, the concept of the commons and its performance for current socio-environmental challenges is addressed, after which the field of climate change and the contributions of community environmental psychology to this problem are discussed. The chapter concludes with some proposals to advance toward resilience.
