The world faces challenges from the effects of climate change, which demand integrated approaches to this phenomenon that allow collaboration among disciplines, one of which is to study the use of community resources to thrive in an environment of change and uncertainty. The study of community resilience is growing in Latin America, focusing on risk, citizen participation, and social learning. Though environmental psychology in Colombia is still incipient, progress has been made in areas such as environmental management and pro-environmental behavior. However, the characteristics of the research being conducted on community resilience to the challenges of climate change in the country are unknown. Through a thematic review, this chapter analyzes 18 studies on community resilience to climate change in Colombia. The results show general patterns that, though diverse in their expression, converge in factors such as social capital, support networks, attachment to place, and citizen participation. Cohesion and mutual support emerge as distinctive elements in communities facing natural phenomena that can cause disasters. Though research on this phenomenon in Colombia is scarce, this study provides an overview of the scientific production and emerging areas in the country.
