Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction is a general term that includes all the obstructive lesions affecting the left ventricle, aortic valve, and the aortic arch. Many patients who require intervention during childhood may also require reintervention later in life for residual or recurrent lesions. Each disease entity has associated reparative operations and this chapter focuses on potential pitfalls and complications related to the surgical management of these conditions and how they can be prevented or rectified.
