Social convoy refers to the social network acting as guardians, providing assistance and support to individuals at different stages of life. Based on continuing bonds, the social convoy system can be sustained, including the relationship between the bereaved and the deceased. The aim of this study is to understand the social convoy experience of bereaved individuals and how they perceive the role of deceased in their social convoy system. Research methods including semi-structured interviews, the hierarchical mapping technique, and the model of natural narrative were employed. The study found that the experience of communication with the deceased helps individuals gain a CB (continuing bond) and servers the deceased by playing a role in social convoy. After-death communication can be divided into two parts: initiated by the deceased, and initiated by the bereaved. Social convoy experience is of universality and cultural specificity and has a positive impact on the living individuals, which has certain implications for bereavement counseling.
