The Temptations and Limits of an Instrumental-Rational Approach
摘要
All employees should behave in accordance with the applicable rules; this is the basic tenor of the practical literature on compliance management. At the very least, the organizational rules would have to articulate applicable legal regulations and legally non-binding standards in a way that minimizes legal risks and reputational risks to the organization. Training courses and online tutorials are assumed to be an important instrument for reaching this goal. They are intended to make the rules known within the organization and to sensitize people to their observance. At the same time, however, such mandatory compliance training also serves as a kind of insurance policy for the organization and top management: If there are deviations from the rules, at least no employee can say they didn’t know the rules.
