Over the past few decades, Latin American states have experienced successive waves of reform and counter-reform. Although the nature and scope of these processes have varied across countries, many—such as Argentina, Brazil, and Chile—have been navigating the shifting terrain of financialization. Despite this, comparative research on the financialization of welfare in the region remains scarce. Given that this book focuses on the Argentine case, I do not aim to generalize the findings or draw conclusive regional claims. However, certain features of the Argentine experience may help to open new avenues for comparative analysis and contribute to building a regional research agenda on the financialization of welfare in Latin America.
