Producing wire with a refined structure is currently relevant. However, there are technical challenges of achieving it in the production of long products, such as wire. When manufacturing long products, one of the most efficient methods to form a refined structure is screw rolling with higher feed angles, named as radial displacement rolling. The paper presents studies, which contributed to creating a tool, showing a character of a flow as during radial displacement rolling, but for wire manufacturing only. The metal flow was assessed and microhardness of workpieces was measured. A new method, differing from a conventional roller-type drawing, can be used for the deformation by the round-round guide passes to eliminate a non-uniform deformation along the pass width, simplify a design of a roller die and considerably reduce a number of deformation rollers.
