In his article “Problème de la Mode”, Sémir Badir (2014) concludes that Greimasian semiotics is born out of the lexicological disappointment left in Algirdas Julien Greimas by his doctoral thesis, La Mode en 1830 (Greimas 2000), whose object was fashion. However, it is possible to argue that neither La Mode en 1830 nor the section dedicated to dress in De l’imperfection (Greimas 1987) are works about fashion. Rather, as the subtitle of his thesis clearly states, the work approaches “a description of the sartorial vocabulary” which, in his last individual book, is transposed to a description of “the act of dressing”.

摘要
