The Convergence of Blockchain and Named Data Networks: A Survey of Current Trends and Innovations
摘要
The increasing number of web clients and demand for online content rises significant problems to the scalability, security, and performance of traditional Internet Protocol (IP)-based internet infrastructure. A workable method for delivering content with its content name is Named Data Network (NDN). On-path caching, which enables data to be cached at intermediate routers from the source to the destination, is the most significant feature of NDN. Developing NDN presents a number of security and privacy issues, including access control, cache poisoning, and key management. Without requiring a single authority, blockchain technology offers a distributed and decentralized way to keep consistent and trustworthy data in uncertain networks. Nevertheless, there are still a lot of important problems with blockchain technology that relate to intellectual property, such as ineffective hierarchical access. By utilizing blockchain technology in NDN, these problems have been fixed, simplifying the architecture and creating a decentralized system. The aim is to foster a new way to combine blockchain and NDN for better security. This survey provides valuable perspectives on the developing fields of blockchain to address difficulties and open research issues in NDN.
