Demand side management is an effective way for utility services through controlling the energy demand. Therefore, an efficient DSM strategy could ensure profits for the supply and demand sides. Consequently, this chapter presents a load shifting strategy by considering multiple devices to reduce the energy demand pattern in the system. As the optimization of load consumption profiles is a primordial process in DSM technique, the proposed strategy is based on an improved version of differential evolution (DE), named Back Tracking Search Algorithm (BSA).

摘要
