Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathophysiology of Claudication
摘要
While descriptions of intermittent claudication symptoms can vary between patients, there are some consistent features that follow directly from the anatomy and pathophysiology of the disease process. Occlusive disease, leading to fixed obstructions in blood flow, becomes symptomatic when metabolic demands increase with activity. The physiologic consequences and adaptations are also described.
