Treatment of intermittent claudication requires a thoughtful and holistic approach. There are two primary goals the editors seek for this textbook: (1) calling attention to the difference between claudication and other forms of peripheral artery disease, and (2) shifting the focus of care to cardiovascular risk reduction and a “patient-centered” approach to revascularization decisions. This chapter outlines how the chapters complement each other and build toward these goals.

摘要

Treatment of intermittent claudication requires a thoughtful and holistic approach. There are two primary goals the editors seek for this textbook: (1) calling attention to the difference between claudication and other forms of peripheral artery disease, and (2) shifting the focus of care to cardiovascular risk reduction and a “patient-centered” approach to revascularization decisions. This chapter outlines how the chapters complement each other and build toward these goals.
