A Biotic Perspective
摘要
This chapter develops a biotic perspective on existence—one that begins not with humans, but with other forms of life, or biots. It emphasizes what humans share with these other biots, and what we have inherited from them. At its core, this perspective is committed to improving our deeply troubled relationships with other life forms. To this end, the chapter offers a relational analysis of life’s development and highlights the universal modes of relating established by the earliest life forms.
