Legal Provisions in Resource Mobilization of Union Parishad in Bangladesh

Local government is a legal entity established by law and higher authority to execute legal functions, including maintaining law and order, conducting the village court, collecting revenue, and settling small disputes among rural people. However, the legal provisions of the UPs have developed throughout time. This chapter intends to examine the legal provisions of the UPs with respect to the current legal frameworks for local resource mobilization in Bangladesh.
