This information may be incorrect and have the deliberate intention of deceiving or causing harm to the interlocutors. Fact-checking is one of the most important, structured, and widespread initiatives in the world to fight disinformation. It is carried out by independent private institutions or linked to some traditional media. There is still no common assessment method to verify the facts. In addition, the effects of this initiative are not yet evident, and its funding is uncertain. There is still resistance to accepting their verdict. However, fact-checking is necessary and urgent.
