The construction industry in Northern Canada experiences unique challenges due to its unique setting. Even though these challenges can be mitigated by using state-of-the-art technologies, there has been a lack of research in identifying technology usage in the construction sector of Northern Canada. Hence, this paper aims to evaluate the use of state-of-the-art technology for construction management in Northern Canada, and identify the solutions to improve current practices. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to design a questionnaire that investigates technology usage in the Northern construction industry. University of Windsor Research Ethics Board approval was obtained for this questionnaire survey. Responses was collected from 63 construction professionals in Northern Canada, who are involved in the delivery of public infrastructure projects. Measures were taken to ensure the validity and reliability of the questionnaire survey. Questionnaire survey responses were analyzed to identify gaps in technology use in the Northern construction industry. This study reveals the status quo of technology use in Northern Canada and potential solutions to upgrade construction management practices.
