To illustrate the variety and depth of mathematical tools needed to study FR/FT in the realm of chaotic dynamics, in this chapter we present a detailed study of the tent map. This example is rich enough to allow for the discussion of interesting phenomena such as phase transitions and their consequences, and provides a blueprint for related study of other interval maps.
