Although Business Intelligence (BI) plays a critical role in enhancing organizational decision-making and operational efficiency, particularly in SMEs, there remains a substantial gap in comprehensive insights into its adoption and implementation across various geographic and organizational contexts. The objective of this paper is to conduct a bibliometric analysis to trace the development and trends in BI acceptance among SMEs and larger corporations, aiming to uncover principal trends and influential research to guide future scholarly work and strategic application. The research identifies a significant surge in studies on BI from 2020 to 2024, highlighting its increased importance in driving organizational competitiveness. The United States, Malaysia, and India are leading the research efforts, with a preference for disseminating findings through articles and conference papers. Central themes emerging from the research include “Business Intelligence,” “Information Analysis,” and “Competitive Intelligence”.
