This chapter examines Lens Reflexivity, where researchers acknowledge that whilst an independent reality exists, it can only be accessed through subjective perspectives and interpretive lenses. Rather than attempting to bracket biases completely, researchers engage in a continuous balancing act as they explore their positionality, motivations, and theoretical frameworks while remaining open to challenging these perspectives when necessary. The chapter explores how researchers can examine their active role in constructing knowledge through careful attention to positioning (identity, power dynamics, worldviews) and posture (openness to alternative perspectives). Key strategies include reflexive journaling, supervision, critical questioning of assumptions and emotions, and collaborative teamwork. Practical applications of Lens Reflexivity are discussed across research phases, from topic selection and writing a literature review to data collection, analysis, and presentation of findings. The approach urges researcher transparency because findings represent constructions rather than discoveries. The chapter also addresses challenges in managing dual relationships. In a study employing Lens Reflexivity, the researchers work to gain the reader’s trust that the findings are a logical interpretation that has taken into account the researcher’s positionality and perspectives.

摘要
