Event Selection
摘要
This chapter hones in on the Boosted Decision Tree (BDT) model used to classify signal events versus the plentiful steady-state backgrounds posed by the intrinsic radioactivity of the thorium target mass–the main background source. Two models are implemented: one for neutron classification and one for fission classification. A rigorous model validation is also pursued using cosmic muon-induced neutron events recorded in the NuThor dataset.
