Signal Processing
摘要
The NuThor detector contains 36 NaI scintillating crystals which are externally triggered by the SNS beam pulse as well as a few times between beam spills to collect information about the beam anti-coincident backgrounds. The data acquisition system records 15 \(\upmu \) s long waveforms. A signal processing pipeline is developed to pass all recorded waveforms through in order to lower energy thresholds, optimize energy resolution, and maintain sensitivity to pile-up events. After processing the signals for their respective energy depositions in the NaI crystals, each channel is calibrated every two weeks and has the gain tracked over the span of the months-long data taking campaigns to monitor for abnormalities. Events are then clustered to create N \(_{100}\) event pairs as well as super-clusters which correlate every detector event to its respective beam spill from the SNS.
