In this chapter we shall introduce the subject matter of indefinite divergence form problems and provide a literature overview. One of the main applications of the developments in the book is presented as Theorem 1.1 highlighting an explicit nonlocal effect induced by homogenisation of local divergence form problems with highly oscillatory sign-changing coefficients.

摘要
