Blockchain as an Alternative for Transparency and Optimal Handling of Microcredits in the Democratic Republic of Congo
摘要
Microfinance institutions frequently encounter substantial challenges in credit administration, a situation that can be viewed as a dual-faceted issue with the potential to either stimulate growth or precipitate decline. This paradox stems from their obligation to provide low-risk loans to applicants who often lack sufficient collateral. Effective risk management in this context demands a meticulous evaluation of several indicators, including a comprehensive review of the applicant’s financial history. Research indicates that the digitization of microfinance operations has significantly advanced the sector. This study focuses on a model of data digitization designed to monitor all transactions associated with a credit or individual client, thereby improving transparency and optimizing credit processes within the Republic Democratic of Congo. The proposed model incorporates blockchain technology, which is acclaimed for its transformative and reliable capabilities, including the implementation of a Unique Loan Number and the enhancement of data security to improve operational efficiency.
