As new vulnerabilities and security challenges arise, understanding research trends in these fields is crucial for anticipating threats and ensuring digital security. The bibliometric analysis, based on 752 publications from the Scopus database, focused on 394 relevant articles from the last five years. Using tools like Biblioshiny, Bibliometrix, and VOSviewer, the study identifies key contributors and emerging trends. It reveals a significant rise in research output, peaking in 2023, with major contributions from countries like India, China, and the U.S. International collaboration plays a central role in advancing the field, particularly in securing e-government systems. Decentralized technologies like blockchain are gaining importance in network security, while emerging technologies like big data and artificial intelligence are transforming e-government security on a global scale. The findings offer valuable insights for future research and policy development.
