The 3-Body Problem

In this chapter, we provide the equations of motion of the 3-body problem. The corresponding Hamiltonian is composed by an integrable part, describing the Keplerian approximation, and a perturbing function, which is expanded in terms of the orbital elements and then expressed in Delaunay elements. Next, we proceed to present the 3-body problem under a dissipative effect, precisely the Stokes drag; this dissipative model describes, for example, the dynamics of a star, a planet and a particle in a gas-rich planetary nebula.
