A Rethink of Urban Planning Towards an Ecological Planning Perspective
摘要
This chapter offers concluding remarks on the subject of this book. It emphasizes the importance of integrating urban areas with natural environments as a basic tenet of urban design, noting that the degree of integration depends on various factors, including historical, political, environmental, and socioeconomic aspects. In addition, this chapter identifies shortcomings in some proposed designs and presents potential avenues for advancing ecological planning through participatory processes. The text then turns its attention to the necessity of increasing awareness of the reality of Amazonian cities in the state of Rondônia. This awareness should be employed to facilitate a rethinking of urban planning in the region.
