Research on the Security Estimation Framework for Code-Based Public Key Cryptography Algorithms
摘要
Since the advent of Shor’s algorithm, the demand for quantum-resistant security has gained significant attention across industries. While the exact timeline for the complete obsolescence of first-generation public-key cryptography remains uncertain, designers of network products and protocols must familiarize themselves with potential quantum-resistant alternatives and prepare contingency plans in advance. This paper focuses on code-based public key cryptography algorithms, providing an overview of their research background and detailing the current status of code-based algorithms active in multiple rounds of NIST evaluations, including eliminated candidates and their shortcomings. Additionally, we review security analysis methodologies for code-based algorithms, covering coding theory, associated hard problems, analytical approaches, and major attack algorithms.
