Evaluating the Impact of Economic Prosperity and Financial Globalization on Environmental Sustainability: Is the EKC Hypothesis Valid in Turkey? A Fresh Insight

The purpose of this research is to reveal how globalization influences CO2 emissions (CO2) while considering growth, energy use, and population as control variables in Turkey. This study used indices of economic, trade, and financial globalization represent the globalization index. This research work used the ARDL estimation technique to achieve goals. Findings suggest, the variables have a significant long-term link. Globalization has a significant impact on CO2. Economic growth, population, trade globalization, and financial globalization worsen environmental conditions in the long run. However, economic globalization and energy consumption improve environmental outcomes. Finally, this study has useful insights about the validity of the EKC hypothesis in Turkey.
