Imaging Techniques for Adipose Tissue Analysis
摘要
Adipose tissue imaging has become increasingly important in understanding metabolic health and evaluating related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions. This chapter investigates various imaging techniques for analyzing adipose tissue, highlighting the importance of accurate imaging in assessing fat distribution and its metabolic implications. Modalities including ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), and emerging technologies like ultrasound elastography and optoacoustic imaging are examined for their strengths and limitations. Special emphasis is placed on the role of imaging in distinguishing between white, brown, and beige adipose tissue, as well as its potential therapeutic implications.
