Role of Adipose Tissue and Aging
摘要
The world is witnessing a demographic transformation characterized by a marked increase in the elderly population (Szychowska and Drygas, Aging Clin Exp Res 34(6):1209–1214, 2022). This worldwide trend poses far-reaching implications for healthcare providers and systems (Beard et al., Lancet 387(10033):2145–2154, 2016). The response to these developments requires multidisciplinary approaches, innovation in medical education, and a reevaluation of healthcare practices and policies (Mazzola et al., Gerontologist 56(3):383–390, 2016). Many nations are now recognizing the urgency of adapting their healthcare systems to address the intricacies associated with an aging population (Bloom et al., Lancet 385(9968):649–657, 2015). As age-related diseases become more prevalent, the need for tailored approaches to manage and treat them has become subject to intensive translational research (Guo et al, Signal Transduct Target Ther 7(1):391, 2022, Keshavarz et al, Mol Psychiatry 28(1):242–255, 2023, Amorim et al, Nat Rev Endocrinol 18(4):243–258, 2022).
