Design and Analysis of a Floating Wind Turbine for the Kıyıköy Region, Türkiye
摘要
This study presents a site-specific concept design and dynamic analysis of a tension leg platform (TLP) floating wind turbine for the Kıyıköy region in northwestern Türkiye. Addressing the region’s deep-water offshore potential, the study proposes a TLP design evaluated under both operational and extreme environmental conditions. A systematic methodology combines frequency-domain screening with time-domain simulations in OpenFAST to assess platform motions and mooring responses. The analysis incorporates 49 years of ERA5 reanalysis data to ensure robust environmental representation. Results show that vertical and rotational motions are effectively limited through the combined influence of buoyancy, concrete ballast, and mooring stiffness. These measures maintain platform stability and mooring pretension even under 50-year extreme loadings. The findings demonstrate the technical viability of the proposed TLP system for offshore wind deployment in the Kıyıköy region.
