Modelling and Simulation of a Pull-Flow Production Process: Buffer Stock Regulation and Replenishment Control
摘要
In modern industrial logistics, the production process is crucial for converting raw materials into finished or semi-finished products. This process is highly complex due to its interdependence with other supply chain functions, particularly replenishment. This paper presents a novel approach for modelling and controlling production systems using a pull flow strategy. The manufacturing system is designed as production machine and a replenishement policy working as a control loopthat adjust raw material supplies based on real-time demand ensuring that production is directly aligned with customer needs. This work aims to establish a control mechanism for replenishment in a production system that can be adapted to any production topology by adjusting system organization and parameters. Simulations using Simulink are conducted to evaluate this model. The result offers new insights into integrating smart technologies and real-time data into production systems, providing a fresh perspective on modeling and simulation.
