This chapter describes an investigation with 47 preservice primary school teachers in Chile that explores their experiences and perspectives after a workshop course with lesson study using a problem-solving approach. We focus on the question “What did the lesson study mathematics workshop course offer you that your university courses did not?” Responses from four cohorts, years 2021–2024, were analysed via an interpretive qualitative research approach. The content analysis revealed that the preservice teachers valued connecting what they had learned theoretically with its practical application, and the preservice teachers’ independent responses were consistent and unique in each cohort while the objectives and tasks of the workshop were maintained.
