This article is presented with the main objective of this research being to examine how terrorist organisations have adapted to new digital platforms and use major social media networks and artificial intelligence (AI) to reach an increasingly younger audience. The methodological approach adopted is descriptive in nature, based on an exhaustive bibliographic analysis of academic sources and research studies. It explores digital propaganda strategies, the use of recommendation algorithms, and segmentation techniques that enable the effective dissemination of extremist content. The scope of the of study covers global platforms, focusing on the mechanisms that facilitate continuous exposure to radical messages, starting with the main question of “How do terrorist organisations penetrate the minds of young people who are recruited and radicalised?”.
