Chat and the Texts: On the Way into the Literary Public
摘要
In the chapter, Chat is involved in theme sessions that lead into the literary forums and to tasks that require participation in the analytical processes of the work interpretation. With Chat as an assistant, the analyses of AI/ChatGPT’s areas of strength are sharpened, which, as highlighted by the IT expertise, concern: sparring for idea generation, knowledge building and help with structuring texts/themes/topics. At the same time, Chat, who navigates the world of words and texts itself, must be challenged to solve tasks carried out on the premises of the humanities. Initially, this means that when Chat is involved in analysis tasks of works of fiction, Chat must understand and interpret the text/work. The requirement goes backwards, to the presupposition (in order to understand the work, it must be read) and forwards (in order to write about it, it is assumed that Chat has interpreted the work for action, theme and problems). These are major demands, but correspond to practical contexts that Chat is programmed and dressed in a language suit to participate in. And as the examples in the chapter show, Chat effortlessly contributes to themes and analysis projects in the sessions The Breakthrough of Modernism and Gender Roles and even invites further debate in the literary forum. KB maintains genre-specific task formulations. Chat, on the other hand, moves around in the genre and alternately delivers essay-like texts, presentations on feminist literary theory and bulleted analysis templates. Against this background, the chapter reconstructs the actual course of the KB/Chat session and begins by delving deeper into the basis of inspiration.
