The chapter summarizes the questions about how ChatGPT’s text corpus and machine language actions are conceptualized, examined and analyzed. Through philosophical concepts of speech act from J.L. Austin and Paul Ricoeur and updated theories about the digitalized development of society and the ‘living public’, presented by Jürgen Habermas and Oskar Negt, the descriptive apparatus and strategic approach of the analysis are then sharpened. Against this background, the analysis strategy is characterized over two steps, by: (1) Taking the public and the official ideologies at face value—(in casu this means taking the IT expertise, politicians, institutions and their programs at their word) = the intended (2) Confronting the ideologies and the intentions of the programs with the actual conditions and results = the practiced. This means for the presentation of the analysis, that the starting point is consistently taken from step 1 confronted with step 2. observations, studies and results. At the same time, conflicts, which the first tests showed in the everyday editions, are kept alive as an empirical challenge. Regardless of the latent human/machine conflicts of the process, the fact is that when ChatGPT is used as a conversation partner and text producer, the politician, the institution or the everyday user is already bound by the analysis strategy and Step 1’s official recognition of the AI/chatbot’s machine language practice.

摘要
