Rehabilitation Concerns in Trauma
摘要
With trauma being a leading cause of death and disability in the United States, rehabilitation remains paramount to reintegrate patients back in the community. Early rehabilitation after trauma is critical to reaching this goal and there must be consideration of consultation with multidisciplinary therapists (physical, occupational, speech-language pathology, recreational) along with psychology and physical medicine and rehabilitation (PMR) physicians during the acute phase after injury. Rehabilitation needs often span beyond the initial hospitalization to rehabilitation hospitals and outpatient centers to maximize patient recovery.
