Blunt or penetrating trauma to the pancreas and/or duodenum is associated with high levels of morbidity and mortality. In this chapter, we review the epidemiology, anatomy, classification, operative management, and morbidity and mortality associated with traumatic injuries to the pancreas and duodenum. This chapter will review modern approaches to the evaluation and management of traumatic pancreas and duodenum injuries and their associated complications.
