The Effects of China, India, and Russia’s Competing Strategies on FDI to Sub-Saharan Africa
摘要
As sub-Saharan Africa’s (SSA) post-independence challenges deepened, Western interest in the region declined, shifting focus instead to Asia. China, India, and Russia however quickly filled the gap left by the West’s disengagement, positioning themselves as key development partners. This chapter explores how China, India, and Russia have each adopted different strategies to engage with SSA politically and economically and considers the implications for SSA’s FDI in the contestation between the West and East.
